World war two started When a man called Adolf Hitler decided to invade Poland and then the British said if Hitler does not with draw his troops Britain will declare war.
Hitler did not with draw his troops so Britain declared war on Germany.
Very early in the war the British sent alot of soldiers into France on a operation called operation Dynimo where lots of British troops atacked the Nazis at Dunkirk.

Hitler invaded lots of different places in Europe but when he tried to invade Russia on an operation called operation Barberosa, the Russians led the Nazis inland and took them as far as Stalingrad where there was lots of fighting on the streets and in between the houses. But finally the Germans retreated and were pushed back by the Russian army.

On 1944 the 6th of June the Allies launched a massive invasion fleet and sent them to Normandy were they landed on five different beaches called Utah, Omaha, sword, Juno and Gold.

After a couple of months the Allies had liberated alot of France and were slowly liberating the rest of Europe until finally they got to Berlin, the Nazis surrendered and the Allies won the war.
