Visit van Gogh
Support Staff Heather Graeme Sam Crawley Helen Welcome to year 2 and to van Gogh and Gauguin classes.
Welcome back to all. Can you believe it is the last half term of year 2? There is a downloadable copy of the summer newsletter in the information section on the right side of this page.
As it is the world cup during the next two months, we thought it might be nice to focus the homework on that. If you have not received a copy of the homework or have lost it, you can down load a copy from the information section of this page. Class trip: Year two will be going to the British Museum to look at the Ancient Greek artifacts on Friday June 25th. If you have not received a letter about this, you can download a copy from the information section of this page. ALL childrenMUST return a permission slip in order to go. Please remember to sign up on the permission if you are interested in assissting on class journey..
Please remember that children should bring in LABELED PE kits on a weekly basis. It is also necesarry that children have and bring in a book bag. There are regualar occurances when books and letters have to be sent home, but children do not have a bookbag in class to use, meaning communications tend to get lost. If you do not have a book bag, they can be purchased from the school office.
Spellings and Maths: Parents, please continue to test your children on the spellings of the hi-frequency words (list can be downloaded from the right side of this page). A list of the spelling patterns and sounds that we will be using this term can be downloaded from the right hand side of this page. Included are some helpful hints to help children with their spelling. Also a reminder that by the end of year 2, your child should know thier 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 times tables (out of order - ie 3x5, 8x8, 5x5).

For example, when certaiin items were invented, who invented them, how would that have changed someone's life. You can download a copy of the spring project on the right side of this page.
Including:when to us k, c or ck; adding ing; how to write a short or long vowel and looking for patterns.
