Welcome to Kandinsky Class!
Homework Project PresentationsAs last time I would like to stagger the presentations over three days. So if your child's name begins with A - H then please can they bring their project in on Tuesday 9th, from I - M on Wednesday 10th and N - T on Thursday 11th. If there are any difficulties with this then please come and see me to re-arrange. I am looking forward to hearing about the work children have been doing!
TOPICOur topics for the Spring term include sound and hearing, growing plants, great fire of London, Florence Nightingale, our school, Islamic beliefs and Christian naming and baptism.
We aim to use our topics within most of the areas of the curriculum this term including sound and hearing(Art, science, history, DT & ICT), growing plants (art, maths, literacy, science, ICT & humanities), Islamic beliefs and Christian naming and baptism (RE, science & art), great fire of London, Florence Nightingale (art, literacy, ICT & humanities).
For numeracy and literacy we will be following the Primary Framework.

SpellingsSpellings are usaully given out on a Friday by the Ruth Miskin Litearcy (RML) group leaders. Spelling tests could take place any day from Monday to Thursday morning. When writing weekly spellings ➢ LETTERS should aim to be Children should aim to spell the words on the High Frequency List correctly. A printable version of this can be found on the right side of this page in the Homework section. Maths homeworkThis is usaully given out on a Friday and should be returned on Monday. Certificates will no longer be awarded for returned homework. The homework would normally cover the planned maths topic for the following week. Reading booksReading scheme books are usaully exchanged on a Tuesday and Friday . Children are normally given the opportunity to change their self chosen books on a daily basis.
Mrs Piesold, a student teacher, will be working with Kandinsky class again this term and will be with us for five weeks up to half term.
