It was still very cold, so before starting our gardening we did a spell in the Green Room learning about what plants need to grow well.

So, we learned that plants need, amongst other things:

    * soil for support and nutrients
    * a comfortable temperature to aid growth
    * an environment free of pests and diseases
    * water, light and carbon dioxide that work together to create food.  This is called PHOTOSYNTHESIS

Then we turned our hand to pricking out the plants we had sown before Christmas into seed trays. This is to enable the seedlings to grow strongly before being planted out in the terraces.
